Their Mouths, Your Voice:

Packet Writing with Felipe Torres Medina

November 6

3 to 5 pm EST

On ZOOM

Packets are the first step to writing for late night and comedy/variety shows. In this class we will discuss the process for creating your most authentic packet. We’ll do a deep dive on the deep dive monologue and on the joke-centric one too. We will workshop writing jokes off data points, and analyze what makes a good desk bit/guest bit. By the end of the class, students should have a clearer understanding on how to approach writing a packet for a comedy/variety show and will have practiced writing topical monologue jokes and evergreen desk bits.
